Shane del Rosario vs. Guto Inocente set for UFC 168 in Las Vegas

By Chris Taylor - October 4, 2013

This afternoon, UFC officials announced that a heavyweight bout between Shane Del Rosario (11-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) and promotional newcomer Guto Inocente (6-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is the latest addition to December’s stacked UFC 168 card.

Shane del Rosario was last seen in action 10 months ago at the “TUF 16 Finale,” where he took on veteran kickboxer Pat Barry. Unfortunately for Del Rosario fans,  Pat Barry was able to stop the California native in the second-round via KO. Shane made his octagon debut back at UFC 146 against perennial contender Stipe Miocic, who defeated Shane in the second-round via TKO. Prior to that, del Rosario had gone a perfect 11-0 in his MMA career, including 3 first-round stoppages while under the Strikeforce banner.

Meanwhile, Guto Inocente is set to make his UFC debut on the heels of a 4-fight win streak. Inocente was last seen in action at the “Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Cormier” event in May 2012, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Virgil Zwicker. Five of Inocente’s six career wins have come by form of stoppage.

UFC 168 takes place December 28 live from the  MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a middleweight title fight rematch featuring current champ Chris Weidman taking on former champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva.
