The topic of major MMA promotions such as the UFC, and Bellator MMA, having amateur divisions is one that has long been discussed.

A step across the bridge between regional circuit MMA and the big leagues was crossed recently when it was announced that Professional Shamrock FC champions would be awarded contracts with Bellator MMA.

Fighters with Shamrock FC that earn a Bellator contract will be paid $3,000 to show, and $3,000 to win should their bout go down on the preliminary card, and they will be paid $8,000 to show, and $8,000 to win if their bout makes it onto the televised main card on Spike TV.
