Ryan Bader responds to Anthony Johnson’s “REAL NUMBER ONE CONTENDER” talk

By Russell Ess - October 22, 2015

Reports of Anthony “Rumble” Johnson trying to get a fight with Ryan Bader have been buzzing over the media lately, but Bader was not even aware of it until Wednesday.

Ryan Bader

Johnson said in a recent Facebook post, “How can a true athlete feel that he/she is the next best in line for a title shot when they haven’t fought anybody in the top 3 of rankings?”

Bader took to Instagram to address Johnson’s call for a fight.

Bader captioned his Instagram post addressing Johnson:

I have been out of the country on vacation with friends and family and off social media this past week. Saw all the @anthony_rumble talk when I got back. We lobbied to fight him this past May, and are still not opposed to fighting him. So first and foremost we are not running from anybody and never have. I respect the guy and what he’s done. He’s had his shot, now it’s my turn to at the very least see what happens with this title picture. My mind is on Cormier, and that is what I’ve been told I’ve earned. We will see what direction we go pretty soon.

Who do you think makes for a better fight Penn Nation, Bader and Cormier, or Bader and Johnson? Let it be known in the comment section below!
