A lightweight bout featuring Ramsey Nijem taking on Erik Koch is the latest addition to July’s UFC on FOX 16 card in Chicago.
UFC officals announced the booking yesterday.
Erik Koch (14-4 MMA) will return to the cage for the first time since May of 2014, where he suffered a brutal TKO loss to Daron Cruickshank. Prior to that loss, “New Breed” was coming off a first-round TKO victory of his own, which he scored over Rafaello Oliveira at UFC 170. Koch has gone just 1-3 in his past four octagon appearances.
Meanwhile, Ramsey Nijem (9-5 MMA) will also be looking to rebound, this after suffering a TKO loss to Carlos Diego Ferreira in his last octagon appearance at UFC 177. Prior to the setback, Nijem had scored back-to-back wins over opponents Beneil Dariush and Justin Edwards respectively.
UFC on FOX 16 goes down July 25 live from the United Center in Chicago. The event is headlined by a bantamweight title fight rematch featuring current champ T.J. Dillashaw defending his strap against former title holder Renan Barao.
