Former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem earned an impressive decision victory over Roy Nelson at this past weekeend’s UFC 185 event in Dallas, Texas.
“The Reem” dominated “Big Country” with striking for the majority of 3 rounds, but could not finish Nelson during their 15-minute battle.
Overeem spoke about Roy Nelson’s toughness during the UFC 185 post-fight press conference, comparing the heavyweight slugger to ‘The Hulk’, his words:
“I’m actually a little bit banged up. He’s a dangerous guy, and this proves it. I’m clipping him left and right, and I’m banged up on my feet from kicking him,” he said. “Every time I hit him, I could see in his eyes he wanted to take my head off. Every time I hit him, he got more angry, kind of like The Hulk or something.”
The victory marked Overeem’s second in a row, as he had previously defeated Stefan Struve at December’s UFC on FOX 13 event via first-round KO.
