New Mexico Will Not Overturn Sanchez vs. Pearson Decision

By bjpenndotcom - June 20, 2014

After a meeting on Wednesday, the New Mexico Athletic Commission made a ruling on the controversial decision from the Diego Sanchez vs Ross Pearson bout. They ruled that…The decision will stand. That’s right Sanchez will get to keep his shiny W in his win column.

The fight, which took place at UFC Fight Night 42 in Albuquerque, NM, was seen by most (and by most I mean everyone) as a one-sided affair that favored Pearson. However, the judges that night saw it differently and awarded the native son a split decision victory. Pearson filed an appeal shortly after the fight, but really no one expected the decision to be changed.

The good news for Pearson is that he was awarded his win bonus by the UFC who also said that they would be treating it like a victory for Pearson in upcoming match making decisions. Let me know what you guys think about all this in the comments!
