UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor (18-2 MMA) has been busy filming for the The Ultimate Fighter Season 22.

“Notorious” is coaching the season opposite former WEC featherweight title holder Urijah Faber, however, the pair will not fight at the tournaments conclusion.

According to McGregor, who is booked to fight Jose Aldo in the main event of UFC 194 this December, he would have loved to do a tune-up fight agaisnt “The California Kid”, his words (via MMAFighting):

“Really, it would be nice to have a fight at the end of it,” said McGregor. “We could easily fit a fight in on the Dublin card in The O2[Arena] in October. Filming wraps at the end of September, I believe. I could go in and make light work of Urijah. I could maul him inside one round and be fresh.”

He continued:

“Then we could do the Jose fight towards the end of the year on one of these dates that’s being thrown around. They wouldn’t have it so we’ll just be coaches and that will be that.”
