Matt Brown: ‘Without Conor, ‘GO BIG’ Press Conference Would’ve Been Boring’

By BJPENN.COM News - September 12, 2015

A lot of people have been critical of UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s antics at the latest ‘GO BIG’ press conference.

McGregor took over, jumping on the mic whenever he felt like he needed to, even when questions weren’t directed towards him.

He started beefs with tons of fighters, like UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and Donald Cerrone. He also got into it with former opponent Chad Mendes. It was undoubtably the Conor McGregor show. Several fighters have since talked about it. Some just laugh it off while others said all his talking is starting to get annoying.

However, there is one fighter who thought McGregor brought some life to the ‘boring’ press conference.

UFC welterweight Matt Brown said, on ‘The Great MMA Debate’ podcast, that he thinks McGregor was entertaining.

“I’ve got to admit if Conor wasn’t there that would have been the most boring, son-of-a-b–ch press conference in history. I was pretty g—–mn bored myself, but I wasn’t getting any questions either and I had to pee so bad it was driving me up the wall. I don’t know what made me decide to chug a gallon of water before I went up there.”
