Machida Breaks His Silence! ‘I was On Auto Pilot After That Elbow’

“I was out of the fight at the very end of the first round. I think I took an elbow to the neck, something like that, I felt an impact. From that moment, I was dizzy, I began to see things a little different … I did not have enough time to recover for the second round and came back that way. Couldn’t really remember, I remember just after a few moments. I was no longer able to hear anything there. The second round I fought on automatic, I was in the autopilot and moved on.”

I’ll wait for an opportunity, but I think it is too early to be talking about something now. Luke deserved to win, has the merits of it, is a great fighter and I respect him.

Lyoto Machida suffered one of his most devastating losses to date when he was easily handled by Luke Rockhold at “UFC on FOX 15”. While Rockhold was vocal from the get-go by appearing next to Chris Weidman on the post-show, Machida hung back and hasn’t really said anything of the match until now.

In a recent interview with Combate, Machida shares his recollections of the happenings after he took the brutal elbow to the head.
