Earlier this week, it was announced that UFC welterweight champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler will defend his title against surging Canadian Rory MacDonald at July’s UFC 189 event in Las Vegas.

The pair of welterweights met back in November of 2013, with Lawler earning a split-decision win over MacDonald.

This time around, Robbie is hoping for the finish, as he told Damon Martin of FOX Sports:

“Rory’s one of the top guys and my coach said we’re going to have to fight him again sometime. I think it will be a new and improved fight. I think things will be different, but I want a finish,” Lawler said.

“I’m looking to finish people. I don’t like going to decisions. I always try to finish people, knock them out, beat them up, and that’s always the game plan.”
