Lorenz Larkin dropped to welterweight, and made his division debut earlier this month at “UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver”.

The win was a much needed one for Larkin, who was on a 3-fight skid until he defeated John Howard via TKO earlier this month.

Larkin started his career going 13-0, with a very notable win over Robbie Lawler under the Strikeforce banner. Larkin then lost his first professional bout to Francis Carmont. Larkin bounced back, picking up a win over Chris Camozzi before going on a 3-fight skid, and most recently defeating John Howard.

Now that Larkin is at welterweight, he isn’t interested in using his past win over Robbie Lawler to get a crack at the UFC champ.

He spoke to MMAJunkie:

“It’s pretty much up to the UFC at the end of the day. I can wish for somebody, but it doesn’t mean I’m going to get them.”

With his impressive win at welterweight, any are wondering if Larkin should have dropped weight sooner, however he doesn’t like to ponder ‘what if’.

“I mean, a part of me wishes I would have done it sooner, but, who would have known where I’m at if I did it sooner? Everything happens for a reason.”
