Lamas Removed From UFC 162, Boetsch vs. Munoz Promoted To Main Card

When the ‘Korean Zombie’ got shifted to Brazil to face Jose Aldo, he left Ricardo Lamas without an opponent for UFC 162.

The UFC his apparently opted against filling that vacancy and instead will give Lamas his show money for stepping down and not competing on July 6.

With the UFC 162 event now absent two scheduled fighters, middleweights Mark Munoz and Tim Boetsch have received the call to take over that main card slot and will no longer be featured on the evenings preliminary event.

UFC 162 is set to take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in LAs Vegas, Nevada.
