Johny Hendricks Out To Prove He Deserves Title Shot With Win Over Kampmann | UFC NEWS

By BJPENN.COM News - November 5, 2012

“I know everything counts on this. My whole focus is on this fight. For the most part, a lot of the submissions he gets are guillotines. I think it’s like four guillotines he’s got or something like that. I know his last one he got a guillotine on Thiago Alves.

I taught Martin Kampmann how to wrestle. I taught him how to defend shots for the longest time. To finally get to fight somebody like that, I’m just so excited. I can’t wait, like nothing else matters but that day. I’m going to be trying to hurt people.

“If I do see an opportunity, I will go in for the kill. It’s shown in a lot of my fights. You know, I’m not going to be dumb and try to just pull out a three round win. I don’t want to be a predictable fighter, that’s what I strive for.

“I didn’t have that much confidence in myself. Now, I believe that I am where I’m at. I believe that I should be fighting in the UFC and I should be fighting for a title. I get one more chance to say ‘yes, I am the number one contender, I do deserve that title shot.'”
