It’s safe to say UFC middleweight ‘Jacare’ Souza isn’t very happy about being passed up for a title shot. Instead, the UFC chose Luke Rockhold.

Souza is on a five fight win streak, while Rockhold is on four fight win streak. Although, who Rockhold has fought and finished probably had something to do with it. For example he has beaten Lyoto Machida and Michael Bisping, while Souza has two wins over Chris Camozzi.

Souza’s manager spoke to MMAFighting and had this to say about the situation:

“The only two fighters that make sense to ‘Jacare’ to fight are Weidman and Rockhold. Nobody else makes sense at this point.”

“We don’t have a official position yet. The only fight that might make sense in the future, and to keep ‘Jacare’s’ rhythm for a future title shot, would be face the winner of Lyoto Machida vs. Yoel Romero. So doing that we will avoid ‘Jacare’ getting rusty from not fighting for the title belt.
“It might take more time, but this UFC middleweight title is coming to ‘Jacare’, and whomever has it be ready to battle.”
