Dan Henderson (30-12 MMA, 7-6 UFC) will return to the UFC’s middleweight division this January when he faces Gegard Mousasi (35-5-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 14.

UFC officials announced the pairing earlier today.

Dan Henderson was last seen in action at May’s UFC 173 event in Las Vegas, where he suffered a lopsided defeat to Daniel Cormier. Prior to that, “Hendo” was coming off a third-round knockout win over former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio Shogun Rua.

The 44-year-old MMA veteran has suffered losses in 4 of his past 5 bouts.

Meanwhile, former Dream and Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi will be looking to rebound from a submission loss which he suffered to “Jacare” in September. Prior to the loss, “The Dreamcatcher” was coming off a dominant submission win of his own, which he earned over Mark Munoz in May of 2014.

UFC on FOX 14 goes down January 24 live from Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. The event is headlined by a light heavyweight match-up featuring Alexander Gustafsson taking on Anthony Johnson.
