Fedor Emelianenko signing with the UFC used to be something that could only be achieved in MMA fans’ dreams. Now, it is looking like it could actually become a reality.

Emelianenko is now the hottest free agent in mixed martial arts and there is no doubt that the likes of M-1 and Bellator will be gunning for him. However, the issues keeping Emelianenko from signing with UFC are now a thing of the past.

The demands of co-promoting with M-1 are a thing of the past now that Emelianenko is not affiliated with them. White’s nemesis, Vadim Finkelschtein, is simply a friend of Fedor’s and no longer serves as his manager.

“Dana talked a lot. [He] talked a lot about Fedor, about Vadim, and he talked bad,” Finkelschtein told Submission Radio through a translator. “But Fedor understands that it all was just PR. He’s not in a bad relations with Dana and he doesn’t feel anything bad about him.”

Finkelschtein also doesn’t believe the Reebok deal would push Fedor away from signing with the UFC as he believes Reebok would equally be interested in him. “I’m not sure, but I don’t think it’s going to be a big problem because I think Rebook is interested in Fedor as well as the UFC, and I think if they really want this they will find some ways.”

“I think UFC have a big chance to sign Fedor. It depends on what offer they will make. If Dana would not only talk, but do some things [and] will make a good offer to Fedor, they have a big chance then.”
