Dennis Bermudez Calls For Title Shot Against Jose Aldo

By BJPENN.COM News - July 28, 2014

UFC featherweight Dennis Bermudez is fresh off a submission win over Clay Guida this past Saturday at UFC on Fox 12. The fight extended Bermudez’ win streak to to seven, and added another “Performance of the Night” bonus to the 27-year old’s resume.

“Realistically, I want the title shot. I’ve got a lot of wins. I’ve been finishing guys. I’m an exciting fighter.”

Bermudez understands that with a fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes just being announced for October, as well as his wins coming over not-so high profile fighters, he may have to fight a few more times before getting that title shot.

“Whoever they give me (is fine),”

UFC President Dana White is impressed by Bermudez however. His win over Clay Guida marked the first time Guida has been submitted in almost 5-years.

“That kid just keeps looking nastier and nastier every time he fights,” UFC President Dana White said. “He gets better and better. His performance tonight against a guy like Clay Guida said it all.

“Clay is one of those tough, durable guys that no matter who he fights, he’s in the fight. Tonight, Bermudez finished him. He looked unbelievable.”
