UFC president Dana White probably isn’t feeling so great right now. He announced last night that champion Jose Aldo has pulled out of his scheduled fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 189 and that Chad Mendes would be stepping in to fight McGregor for the interim title.

McGregor and Mendes is still an awesome fight, only problem? The UFC has already spent a ton of money trying to build up Aldo and McGregor, with promos, world tours and posters at the MGM Grand that will now have to be taken down.

Here’s what White said during his ESPN announcement:

“Jose Aldo has pulled out of five title fights. Conor is ready to go, the No. 1 guy in the world, Mendes, is ready to go so it makes sense that they fight for the interim title. Whenever Jose Aldo is ready we can make the fight to unify [the belts]. It was his decision [to pull out of the fight]. We don’t feel great about it — we spent a lot of money promoting that fight, a lot of people were anticipating that fight. It’s definitely disappointing.”
