UFC welterweight champion

Georges St. Pierre stepped down as UFC Welterweight Champion in December of 2013 and announced he would temporarily retire. His return date is still up in the air, but Dana White mentioned he tried to get the former champion to fight in their upcoming Montreal card in April.

During the ‘UFC 183’ Post Fight Press Conference, Dana White stated, “I called Georges St. Pieree and asked if he wanted to fight in that fight. He said, ‘I haven’t even started training yet, Dana.'”

When asked if he was interested in putting on Anderson Silva vs. Georges St. Pierre, White lit up and responded, “I think if GSP wanted that fight I would definitely make that fight. Anderson would too!”

It is obvious that Georges St. Pierre has no idea when he will return to the octagon, but it would have been interesting to see him return in Montreal. What do you think is next for the former champion? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
