Cub Swanson vs. Jeremy Stephens headlines UFC Fight Night in San Antonio

By Chris Taylor - March 19, 2014

UFC officials announced today that a featherweight bout between Cub Swanson (20-5 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Jeremy Stephens (23-9 MMA, 10-8 UFC) will headline the recently announced ‘UFC Fight Night’ event in San Antonio.

The “UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens” event, which goes down June 28 live from the AT&T Center, will mark the promotions first visit to the city of San Antonio.

Since losing to Ricardo Lamas back in November of 2011, UFC featherweight contender Cub Swanson has been on fire. He is currently riding a 5-fight win streak, his latest being a TKO of Dennis Siver, in a bout which earned “Fight of the Night” honors.

Meanwhile, former lightweight Jeremy Stephens has looked absolutely phenomenal since dropping down to 145-pounds, earning 3 straight wins of his own. “Lil Heathen” was last seen in action at January’s “UFC on FOX 10” event, where he dismantled Darren Elkins on route to a unanimous decision win.

The winner of this fight could emerge as the top contender in the UFC’s stacked featherweight division.

Who do you think will win this key featherweight tilt? Let’s hear it Penn Nation!
