Jon “Bones” Jones’ run in with the law may have thrown a monkey wrench in plans for “UFC 187” and his bout with Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, but it certainly brought the light heavyweight division back to life.

After it was announced that Jones was arrested, Cormier mentioned he waited patiently for his phone to ring so he could jump into the championship match. “I was waiting, because this thing with Jon happened on a Sunday,” Cormier said. “Two days is a long time to wait. And initially I was like okay, we’ll see what happens.”

Cormier went on to talk about how Ryan Bader started talking about how he deserved to be Jones’ replacement in the title match and Cormier started going off on Bader. “Ryan Bader started putting stuff on the internet, and it was like, what the hell’s wrong with you?” Cormier said. “You’re trying to cut to the front of the line. It’s not like he beat anybody.”

Bader is currently riding a four fight winning streak with wins over Phil Davis and Ovince St. Preux. Who do you think deserved the title shot more: Daniel Cormier or Ryan Bader?
