Chael Sonnen Must Testify Under Oath At NSAC Hearing

By BJPENN.COM News - July 14, 2014

Chael Sonnen’s ongoing troubles with the NSAC continue. After an initial hearing, it was announced that Sonnen would have a hearing at a later date, where he could formally appeal his suspension. Today the Nevada Deputy Attorney General spoke to MMAJunkie.com about the situation via email.

“Mr. Sonnen must personally appear and testify under oath at the commission’s July 23 disciplinary hearing,” wrote Nevada Deputy Attorney General Chris Eccles in an email to MMAjunkie. “He is expected to answer questions about the prohibited substances detected in his system as a result of the out-of-competition tests performed on May 24 and June 5.”

The meeting between Sonnen and the NSAC, where Sonnen must testify, is set for July 23rd, almost two weeks before Sonnen is set to compete at Metamoris 4, on August 9th.
