Chael Sonnen may know who CM Punk will face in UFC debut
Since the UFC announced that CM Punk, also known as Phil Brooks, will be making his UFC debut sometime in the future, there has been talk as to who he will fight.
Brooks has never competed in a MMA bout, and as a result, UFC President Dana White said he will be facing someone with a 1-0, 1-1, or 2-1 record.
Now, Chael Sonnen says that he knows who Brooks opponent will be.
He spoke to MMAMania:
“I have a pretty good idea who his opponent is.”
“I’m going to keep that close to the vest. It would not make sense to give him a bottom-tier guy.”
“Well he is not a bottom-tier guy, I can tell you that. You will know who he is and he will be a pretty-heavy favorite to win. Punk is not going to come in as the favorite.”
