Brendan Schaub was one of the interesting stories to come out after the UFC/Reebok deal pay amounts were announced.

Schaub came out and said that he would be losing a whole lot of money with the deal because he was making six figures in sponsorship pay by himself. Since then UFC president Dana White has come out and publicly called Schaub a liar concerning those numbers.

The UFC heavyweight appeared on Joe Rogans podcast and talked about White’s comments and the deal as a whole.

Here’s some of the highlights:

“I thought about it all last night, its actually been keeping me up.”

“I’m not lying, but it does nothing for me to prove this and do all this stuff because first things first, I’m team UFC man. I wouldn’t have this platform, I wouldn’t have this fame, I wouldn’t be able to make money I’m making now if it wasn’t for Dana White and the UFC. So I’m not anti-UFC in the least bit.”

“So if it helps the overall majority of the fighters then I’m on board man. Like I said, I’m team UFC. If it legitimizes the UFC with all the other major sports programs then I’m in.”

On White’s comments:

“I just think he was misinformed, someone misinformed him.”

“I don’t want to be the Tito Ortiz of this Reebok deal.”

“There’s going to be some guys upset, but in the grand scheme of things, it might be better for the overall concept of all the UFC fighters.”

Well it seems as though Schaub is trying to play nice with his employer and doesn’t want to ruffle any feathers. What do you guys think, could the deal be the right move in the long run?
