Fabricio Werdum

It was still a BIG news week for the men and ladies of the octagon. Several fights were announced including a rematch for the UFC Heavyweight Championship between Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez! Get caught up on all the latest fight announcements in this week’s “Booking Roundup”!

UFC Fight Night 74
Rick Story has been forced out of his bout with Erick Silva at next week’s “UFC Fight Night 74” set to take place in Canada. Instead, Silva will be stepping into the octagon with Neil Magny! Magny is looking to rebound off a tough loss to Demian Maia earlier this month at “UFC 190” in Brazil. This will be Silva’s first fight on North American soil since his TKO loss to Matt Brown in 2014… who will redeem themselves next weekend?

Sean O’Connell has also been forced to pull out of his fight at “UFC Fight Night 74”. Taking his place against Misha Cirkunov will be Daniel Jolly! This will be Jolly’s first octagon fight and he is showing guts by going up against a stud in Cirkunov at 9-2.

UFC Fight Night 75

Kyoji Horiguchi will be fighting for the first time since his tough loss to Demetrious Johnson when he squares off with Chico Camus in September. Horiguchi’s last finish came at the expense of Jon delos Reyes in Japan and he will be looking for repeated success against Camus.

UFC Fight Night 76
Stipe Miococ has been on the hunt for his next opponent and it looks like he will be fighting Ben Rothwell next. Both heavyweights are on a roll and are on the quest for a shot at the UFC Heavyweight Championship which is in the possession of Fabricio Werdum.

Paddy Holohan returns to Ireland for the second time under the UFC banner and he will be looking to extend his win-streak to three. His opponent? One of Hawaii’s finest in Louis Smolka. Smolka is currently 3-1 inside the octagon and is also hoping to pick up his third win in a row.

Newcomer Bubba Bush is set to make his UFC debut in Ireland at “UFC Fight Night 76”, hoping to hand Garreth McLellan his second loss in a row. Expect this one to take place on the “UFC Fight Pass” portion of the prelims.

UFC 191
Raquel Pennington will be squaring off with Liz Carmouche in a battle of bantamweights who are looking to get back in the top ten.

In the Future…
The biggest fight announcement of the week just so happens to be a heavyweight clash between Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez. Werdum relieved Velasquez of his role as UFC Heavyweight Champion at “UFC 188” in Mexico City when he submitted him in the third round with a guillotine. Velasquez’s biggest advantage turned out to be his greatest weakness: Conditioning. Velasquez wants to prove that his loss to Werdum was a fluke while Werdum is looking to continue his reign as champion.
