UFC Fight Night 73 Loses a “Creepy” Name…

Geane Herrera will be making his octagon debut on August 8th in Nashville, Tennessee! Herrera wants to extend his already impressive eight fight win streak to nine when he faces Ray Borg. Borg is currently riding a two fight win streak and will be looking to add to it at Herrera’s expense.

Ian McCall suffered another injury and has been forced out of his bout with Dustin Ortiz. Instead, Ortiz will now face Willie Gates. Gates just fought earlier in July at “The Ultimate Fighter: American Top Team vs. Blackzilians Finale” when he defeated Darrell Montague in less than two minutes. Needless to say, he took minimal damage during the fight and is already in fight shape.

Uriah Hall was once again in search of an opponent after Joe Riggs was forced to pull out of their fight. Oluwale Bamgbose will be facing Hall in his UFC debut. None of Bamgbose’s fights went the distance as he knocked out all five of his opponents in the first round. He has yet to lost a professional fight.

Chris Dempsey has signed the dotted lines to face fellow light heavyweight Jonathan Wilson at the Music City event as well. Wilson, like Bamgbose and Herrera, hopes to keep his undefeated streak alive in his UFC debut. Dempsey wants to try and get his win average above .500 as he currently sports a UFC record of 1-1.

UFC 191 Gets Light…

Lightweights Nazareno Malegarie and Joaquim Silva have been added to UFC 191, set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 5th. Both Malegarie and Silva trained under “Shogun” Rua on “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4” and are set to clash on the card which will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson.

Bellator 141 Gets Heavy…

Lorenzo Hood will be making his Bellator debut on August 28th Raphael Butler. Hood brings with him ridiculous knockout power and a track record of short fights. All of his victories have come by way of knockout and he hopes to put Butler to sleep in his debut. Butler, 4-1-1 in Bellator, will be looking to play the role of spoiler.
