By Julien Solomita - April 2, 2013

Nate Diaz is in the right camp to prepare for his next opponent.

“The Punk” Josh Thomson, a former Strikeforce lightweight contender will face Nate Diaz (16-8, 11-6 UFC) in a lightweight matchup at the upcoming UFC on FOX 7 April 20 at the HP Pavilion. And while Thomson (19-5) reviews tape on Diaz to prepare for the fight, the younger of the two UFC Stockton brothers is gaining all the insight he needs from his close teammate, Gilbert Melendez.

Melendez (21-2), who is headlining that same card in a title fight with Benson Henderson, is the reigning Strikeforce lightweight champion who fought Thomson three times and won twice.

Thomson opens up as a +150 underdog, while Diaz holds a commanding -185 in the odds according to BestFightOdds.com.
