“Bendo” would return to lightweight for the right fight

By BJPENN.COM News - October 12, 2015

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson seems to have moved on to bigger and better things with the 155-pound weight class behind him. “Bendo” made his welterweight debut in February 2015 and not only proved he has what it takes to hang with the bigger guys, but he also put on one of the best performances of his career.

Henderson will be stepping into the octagon with thirteenth ranked welterweight Thiago Alves who is coming fresh off an exciting loss to now title-challenger Carlos Condit. The bout will take place in South Korea at UFC Fight Night 79 on November 28, 2015. While the move to welterweight seems permanent, Henderson hinted that he could potentially return to lightweight if the fight was right.

“I’m not going to say I’ll never go back to 155,” Henderson told UFC. “Making the weight would be hard to do on short notice and it’s not a pleasant cut, but if the right fight was there for the taking, I would definitely consider jumping on it, but I’m so excited to really test myself at 170.”
