Anderson Silva: Sonnen is a good guy

By Chris Taylor - November 1, 2013

Once bitter enemies, it appears that former UFC middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva has softened his stance on former opponent Chael Sonnen:

“Chael talk too much, but is a good guy. He’s not bad, he’s a good guy. Chael is (always) in the media for fight. Chael fight for the belt against me two times. Chael fight Jon Jones, Chael fought “Shogun,” Chael fight now. Chael is working for Dana White all the time. Dana don’t need to talk nothing because Chael is working all the time. It’s normal. Chael talk.”

Chael Sonnen twice fought Anderson Silva for the middleweight title, losing on both occasions. In their first fight at UFC 117, Sonnen dominated for more than four rounds before a Silva locked-in an armbar-triangle choke, forcing the tap. In their rematch at UFC 148 in Las Vegas, Sonnen attempted a spinning backfist, slipped, and was eventually TKO’d by “The Spider” in the second round.

Sonnen (29-13-1 MMA, 7-6 UFC) will be coaching the third season of “TUF: Brazil” opposite Brazilian Wanderlei Silva and hopes to have Anderson Silva as one of his team coaches.

What do you think the chances are that “The Spider” joins ‘Team Sonnen’ as a coach for ‘TUF: Brazil 3?’ Let’s hear it Penn Nation!
