Amirkhani: ‘I’ve Reached My Goals and Work in Life Is Done’

Makwan Amirkhani

Makwan Amirkhani continued to impress fans during his last outing in the octagon at “UFC Fight Night 69” this past Saturday. Amirkhani headlined the preliminary portion of the card and made quick work of Masio Fullen when he submitted him in the opening round of the fight with a slick rear naked choke.

After the fights, Amirkhani confessed that he believes his work in life is done and anything that takes place afterwards is a bonus. “I have reached my goals and I have shown a lot of people there is time to work for your goals and your dreams and never give up,” Amirkhani told MMAJunkie. “So my work in this life is done. Everything else is just bonus.”

Even though today is “Father’s Day”, Amirkhani was quick to bring up his mother again and praise her for all the hard work she put in while raising him so he could have a comfortable life. “Some young people they don’t understand that… when your mom raises you all your life and you suddenly just disappear from the house and don’t visit the family that much. You don’t know how much they have been doing work for you to be an adult. There has to always be something, somehow to say thank you to your parent and this is my way to thank my mom.

Amirkhani’s mother set an example for raising children, and he vows to take care of his family just the same. “I will take good care of my family; they deserve that,” Amirkhani said. “My mom, she always goes to get water from a small river. Now I can buy a pump so she can get free water from the river so she doesn’t have to work that much.”
