VIDEO | UFC lightweight Bobby Green issues scathing challenge to Floyd Mayweather

If undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather makes good on his recent comments and actually ventures into the UFC’s Octagon, he’s going to have a target the size of Texas on his back. Every fighter and their mother will be eager for the incredibly lucrative chance to fight the boxer under the MMA ruleset.

One fighter, however, is not willing to wait for Mayweather to move to MMA. That fighter is UFC lightweight Bobby Green. On Wednesday afternoon, Green took to Instagram to issue a fiery challenge to Mayweather.

The UFC lightweight, who is currently in Mayweather’s backyard in Las Vegas, challenged the boxer to meet him at the UFC Performance Institute for a fight. He even assured that he wouldn’t shoot for a takedown or throw a kick.

“We at the Performance Institute, out here in Vegas,” Green said in his post, which can be viewed above. “Hey I ran into T-Woodley. Told a n***a, fuck Floyd, n***a. This is my house n***a. In Vegas, in your soil. Feeling real royal, in your soil. I told [Woodley] ‘I’m better than [Mayweather] at his own style.’ Come see me. I won’t take your little bitch ass down, I won’t even kick your little bitch ass. Come see me!”

So there it is. Green wants to fight Floyd Mayweather on his own turf, in his own style. That’s a bold callout!

Bobby Green last fought in January, when he defeated Erik Koch by decision. This win was preceded by an action-packed draw opposite Lando Vannata, and a trio of disappointing losses courtesy of Rashid Magomedov, Dustin Poirier and Edson Barboza. Now 24-8-1 in sum, Green was briefly linked to a UFC 222 showdown with Beneil Dariush, but was regrettably forced out of this contest with an injury.

What do you think of his challenge to Floyd Mayweather?
