UFC superstar Conor McGregor said that a rematch against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov does not interest him at this time.

McGregor defeated Donald Cerrone via first-round TKO in the main event of UFC 246. After the event, McGregor took part in a media scrum and was asked about a potential rematch with Nurmagomedov, his long-time rival. UFC president Dana White said after the event that he would like to see McGregor fight Nurmagomedov next.

However, it looks like McGregor has other plans. With Nurmagomedov fighting Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 in April, and with McGregor hoping to fight three times during his 2020 ‘season,’ it doesn’t appear that a fight against Nurmagomedov matches up with his timeline at this time.

Here’s what McGregor told the media about a potential rematch against Nurmagomedov (h/t MMAMania.com).

“I think okay, the lightweight title will be there. That will be there. You see the difference in the physique, the preparation and all that. That will come back around, that shot. So I’m certainly not — if the (Khabib vs. Tony) fight does go ahead — sitting out and waiting and then wait through holidays and injuries and everything that goes with it. The who doesn’t matter to me now. I’m looking at dates now. I know March was there. I’m gonna have a look at a calendar and see where we’re at,” McGregor said.

”Like I said, the who does not matter. F*ck Khabib. The who does not matter. The opponents that I line up are likely all inevitable. Sometimes it takes a while to come back around. Look at the Donald situation. Me and Donald have been going back and forth since 2015. We’re involved in this business and we’ll be here a long time. It’s forever, so there’s no rush on anything. And the who does not matter. It’s just keeping myself in shape, focused, and take it as it comes.”

Are you interested in Conor McGregor against Khabib Nurmagomedov or would you rather see him against someone such as Jorge Masvidal?
