UFC Boise weigh-in results: Junior dos Santos and Blagoy Ivanov get green light

Junior Dos Santos, UFC Boise

On Saturday night, the UFC will return to our screens with the shockingly stacked UFC Boise card.

This UFC Boise card will be headlined by a heavyweight contender bout between former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos, and Bulgarian Sambo specialist Blagoy Ivanov, a former World Series of Fighting heavyweight champ who has long been considered one of the best heavyweights outside the UFC.

The co-main event, meanwhile, will occur at 170 pounds, where “Super” Sage Northcutt will attempt to earn his first W in the UFC welterweight division opposite the dangerous Zak Ottow.

Other highlights of the card occur the long-awaited return of three-time UFC featherweight challenger Chad Mendes, who battles Myles Jury, a compelling women’s bantamweight bout between Cat Zingano and Marion Reneau, and a bafflingly under-promoted fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Darren Elkins.

On Friday morning, the 26 fighters on this 13-bout UFC Boise card took to the scales to weigh in for their respective battles.

In a rare twist, every single fighter on the bill hit their mark. That’s right, not a single fighter missed their contracted weight for this UFC Boise card. So much for Friday the 13th being bad luck.
