Nick Diaz blasts the UFC!

Former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz has not stepped foot inside the octagon since his UFC 183 middleweight scrap with Anderson Silva which occurred in January of 2015 in Las Vegas.

The “Stockton Slugger” was outpointed by “The Spider” that night in Sin City and ended up losing the main event contest via unanimous decision.

However, shortly after the fight it was announced that both fighters, Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz, had tested positive for banned substances and the bout was quickly overturned to a no-contest.

After serving his 18-month suspension, which stemmed from testing positive for marijuana metabolites, Nick Diaz has apparently been offered multiple fights from the UFC, all of which he has turned down.

It has been confirmed that Nick was offered both a rematch with Robbie Lawler at UFC 209, and even a title shot against Tyron Woodley for the same event, but neither contest seemed to tickle his fancy.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger was also linked to potential scraps with Conor McGregor as well as a rematch with Anderson Silva, however neither of those fights came to fruition.

Diaz has dropped his last three fights in a row, suffering decision losses to Carlos Condit, Georges St-Pierre and the aforementioned Anderson Silva in that time.

Nick’s most recent win came way back at UFC 137 in October of 2011, when he defeated our namesake BJ Penn via unanimous decision.

Nick recently took to Twitter where he put the UFC on blast with the following message.

“At @ufc you lose money because of your lack of understanding for the sport and by the way thanks for the tickets to the fight bitch!”

According to Nick’s younger brother Nate, fight fans are not likely to see either Diaz brother compete in the 2017 calendar year.
