Jon Jones and his team are confident in his victory after the controversial ruling for his fight against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247. On Saturday, January 8 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, the light heavyweight champion took on the rising contender in the main event. The striking arsenal and takedown defense of Dominick Reyes had many spectators believing he had claimed the victory. However, the final judges’ scorecard ruled unanimously in favour of the 205-pound champion. “Bones” claimed the W by 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46.

In the main event of UFC 247 on Saturday 8th February, Jon Jones took on the rising contender Dominick Reyes. The light heavyweight champion previously mocked Reyes’ lack of experience, but that didn’t translate in the Octagon. Instead, the top-ranked contender used his striking arsenal to constantly pressure the champion. Jon Jones’ stronger performance in the championship rounds combined with his takedowns was enough to seal the unanimous decision victory.

The main event of UFC 247 ended in controversy when Jones was announced as the winner via unanimous decision, with the judges scoring the fight in his favor 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 for a clean sweep to once again defend the UFC light heavyweight title.
