Former UFC heavyweight champion Mark Coleman is already back in the gym. ‘The Hammer’ is one of the most beloved early UFC stars. However, Mark Coleman was unfortunately the victim of a terrible house fire last week. As many have already reported, the retired fighter’s dog Hammer, woke him up in the middle of the night to alert him. Thanks to the alert, Coleman was able to get his parents out of the home safely.

Mark Coleman issues first statement since being hospitalized

UFC Hall of Famer and inaugural heavyweight champion Mark Coleman has issued his first statement since being hospitalized. Coleman was airlifted to a hospital after saving his parents from a house fire. According to local news stations, Coleman went in to save his parents and got them out. ‘The Hammer’ later went back in for the family dog who unfortunately passed away. The house is believed to be a total loss as the fire reportedly started in the kitchen, but it’s uncertain how the fire started.

Mark Coleman airlifted to hospital after saving his parents from a house fire

Mark Coleman, the inaugural UFC heavyweight champion, was airlifted to the hospital after saving his parents from a house fire. Former Bellator executive Rich Chou first brought to light that Coleman was reportedly in hospital, as he saw it mentioned on a thread on social media. Twitter personality Caposa then posted the news article about the incident, confirming Coleman was transported to the hospital.

UFC legend Mark Coleman has opened up about being the victim of sexual assault by Dr. Richard Strauss while attending Ohio State University. Coleman is a UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC and PRIDE heavyweight champion. He is one of the greatest mixed martial artist of all time and a legend in every sense of the word. Nicknamed “The Godfather of Ground and Pound,” Coleman was a successful amateur wrestler before making the transition to MMA in 1996. He was an All-American wrestler at Miami of Ohio before transferring to OSU in 1986 for his senior season. That’s where he, along with more than 350 athletes, was sexually assaulted by the predator Strauss.

Mark Coleman calls out fellow legend Don Frye: I'll "head-butt the sh*t out of you!"

This is not a drill. Mark Coleman, who was the first-ever UFC heavyweight champion, wants to come back for one more war. He’s hoping to rematch fellow UFC Hall-of-Famer Don Frye in what sounds like a no holds barred match, complete with head-butts and all the other attacks that were allowed in the halcyon days of our fine sport. It all began when Coleman took to The UG MMA forums and expressed interest in coaching an upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter opposite Frye. Shortly thereafter, fan interest began to spike on social media. This prompted Coleman to make another callout of Frye — though he still only seemed interested in coaching against his fellow legend.
