Heading into the fight, Namajunas is a -235 favorite while the Brazilian is a +180 underdog on FanDuel. The pros believe Namajunas will be too much for Ribas on the feet and get the victory to return to the win column.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 82 event, a 14-bout fight card headlined by Brendan Allen vs. Paul Craig. The highly anticipated middleweight main event proved to be a coming out party for Brendan Allen. ‘All In’ put together the best performance of his career, dominating his Scottish opponent in all areas of the fight before eventually earning a rear-naked choke finish in round three. The win marked Allen’s sixth in a row and has him primed for a big fight in his next Octagon appearance.

UFC women’s strawweight contender Amanda Ribas is still dealing with COVID-19 symptoms after the Angela Hill fight cancelation. Ribas and Hill were supposed to meet at UFC Vegas 26 last weekend at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, but the fight was canceled on fight day after Ribas and her father tested positive for the coronavirus. The UFC was forced to cancel the fight out of an abundance of caution but was able to work quickly to re-book the bout for June 5. However, it’s possible that the re-booking between Ribas and Hill might not take place as planned, either.

UFC women’s strawweight contenders will collide this spring when Brazil’s Amanda Ribas locks horns with American Angela Hill. Ribas and Hill are set to meet on May 8 when they clash on the undercard of the upcoming TJ Dillashaw vs. Cory Sandhagen bantamweight No. 1 contender fight. The event currently does not have a location or a venue finalized. MMAFighting.com was the first to report the Ribas vs. Hill bout. It seems likely that this fight will take place on the event’s main card.

UFC women’s strawweight contender Amanda Ribas issued a statement following her vicious knockout loss to Marina Rodriguez at UFC 257. Ribas was quickly emerging as a title contender in the UFC women’s strawweight division after winning her first four fights in the Octagon, including notable wins over the likes of Mackenzie Dern and Paige VanZant. She was then matched up against a top-10 opponent in Rodriguez in the opening main card fight at UFC 257. Had Ribas defeated Rodriguez, it seems likely that the UFC would have fast-tracked the Brazilian prospect up to the title picture.

One of the biggest rising superstars among the UFC’s female competitors in the past two years has been Brazil’s Amanda Ribas. With a win on Saturday night at UFC 257, she’ll be all that much closer to her goal of holding a world championship. Kicking off the main card on Jan. 23 will be strawweight action as Ribas looks to leapfrog the No. 8 ranked Marina Rodriguez. Currently ranked just a spot below her Brazilian counterpart, Ribas would extend her winning streak to six with a victory (five in the UFC).

UFC strawweight contender Amanda Ribas believes her former opponent, Paige VanZant, will do well as a bare-knuckle fighter in BKFC. Ribas and VanZant fought in the Octagon in July, 2020, with the former winning by submission. The fight marked the final obligation on VanZant’s UFC contract. After a period of free agency, she signed with BKFC, and is slated to debut against Britain Hart on February 5.

Marcelo Ribas, the father of UFC women’s strawweight contender Amanda Ribas, got a tattoo of his daughter celebrating her first UFC win. In June 2019, Ribas made her UFC debut when she submitted Emily Whitmire for her first win inside the Octagon. Her father, Marcelo Ribas, was so moved by the moment that he decided to get a tattoo to commemorate the moment. MMAFighting.com’s Guilherme Cruz spoke to the elder Ribas, who explained his decision to get the tattoo while providing a photo of his ink. It’s also worth pointing out that in addition to being Amanda’s father, he is also her coach.

UFC women’s strawweight prospect Amanda Ribas has received a new opponent for UFC 257 as Marina Rodriguez has stepped in. Ribas was originally set to take on Michelle Waterson in a high-profile women’s strawweight bout at UFC 257, but Waterson was forced to withdraw for the contest, leaving Ribas temporarily without an opponent. Fortunately, the UFC matchmakers were able to work quickly and secure a new opponent for Ribas as Rodriguez, the No. 8 ranked fighter in the division. On paper, Rodriguez is a perfect opponent for Ribas, who is ranked just one spot below her at No. 9 in the UFC 115lbs rankings.

UFC women’s strawweight contender Michelle Waterson has been forced out of her upcoming UFC 257 bout against Amanda Ribas. MMAFighting.com was the first to report that Waterson has had to withdraw from her bout against Ribas at UFC 257, which was set to take place on January 23 at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. With Waterson off of the card, the UFC will likely look to find a replacement opponent for Ribas. With the card still well over a month away, it shouldn’t be difficult for the UFC to find someone to fight Ribas next month, though it’s doubtful the replacement opponent will be as highly-ranked as Waterson is.

An intriguing women’s strawweight bout between Amanda Ribas and Michelle Waterson is the latest addition to January’s UFC 257 PPV card. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report the Ribas vs. Waterson matchup, which is set to take place at UFC 257 on January 23, likely at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event of the card is targeted to be a rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. It seems likely that Ribas vs. Waterson will take place on the main PPV portion of the card.

A fascinating women’s strawweight clash is reportedly being primed for UFC 256 with No. 7 contender Carla Esparza set to take on No. 12-ranked Amanda Ribas. According to MMA Fighting, the UFC is looking to book this one for their final numbered event of the year which is confirmed for December 12. The card does not currently have any fights confirmed and the location is yet to be revealed. Although, it’s widely believed that the event will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns or a featherweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson, with both fights likely to be made official soon.
