So what if bj lost to pulver then. Thats when pulver was in his prime. and bj finished pulver and faber went the distance with him. & you say speed kills?? Look at sean sherks speed. Way faster then fabers & bj stopped him. & how are you comparing faber to gsp?? faber never faced any competition like bj [except pulver]. i dont even think faber would make it past the top 5 lightweights in the ufc.

sherk has speed but is hardly as sharp as urijah. also sherk is a meathead, he let his ego and pride sucker him into purely boxing bj... urijah is more savvy than that. pulver in his prime would still get his ass kicked by urijah faber. urijah compares to gsp because both are fast with exceptional skill and technique. BJ has the edge in BJJ but urijah is no chump in BJJ either. you are GROSSLY underestimating urijah... his pound for pound rank in the top ten proves that... moreover his pound for pound rank in the top 10 pound for pound rankings should show anyone with common sense that he is on the same plane as Penn and others and that he is no push over like you seem to think he is. like i said before his freakish conditioning makes him a threat to bj.. i'm not saying he'd win for sure vs bj but he def has a good chance. styles make fights... i just think that faber's style is a tough one to beat for ANYONE no knocks against BJ but faber just has a style that would give him a lot of trouble.

I think that pic looks like BJ broke Fabers arm with a karate chop.

can't compare the bj of ufc 35 to the bj of today..... its a widely known fact that bj trains a lot harder these days and is more focused than he was. BJ is a freak and just makes people look amateur, can't take anything away from urijah but BJ just seems to have the measuring stick, he picks his moment and bam, the way he reads attacks and counters is uncanny. His head movement is unreal and he has ultra heavy hands, urijah has speed but i could see bj just picking him off, mounting and eventually sinking the rear naked. Everyone has to remember just how strong bj is, he has fought at welterweight and was able to hold his own against guys like hughes and st. pierre who are reknowned for their strength. Even bj said how good it is to have that strength from being used to fighting the heavier guys, so even if urijah gets gains that ten pound, realistically will he be as strong as bj who has the strength of a 170 pounder.
BJ second fight against jens was a man handling, he toyed with jens and just beat him up till he decided jens had enough and subb'd him, it was not a close affair or a decision win but a stress release form bj for all the shit talk, he could have ended it in the first round. Everyone since then has met a similar fate.....

Bj Would Paddle Urijah Faber! Faber Had A Hard Time With Pulver And Bj When Demolish Pulver So I Say No Chance For Faber Even Though He Is A Great Fighter He Is Just Not On Bj's Level

Urijah is extremely talented but way too small to compete against BJ

I personally think that when it comes down to it Urijah is a very skilled fighter like it or not. But he and BJ are friends and I think ultimately that would prevent that fight from taking place. I know it's a business but sometimes guys draw the line some where. I could be way off base but that's what I see happening. I also agree with some of the other replies that Urijah would have to come up to 155 and I question how strong he would be at that weight. Urijah for his size is in his perfect weight class stepping up to 155 may not be a good transition for him and stepping up to 155 to fight BJ would create serious problems for him.
