WSOF Has No Interest In Rousimar Palhares

Rousimar Palhares is looking for a home but don’t expect the World Series of Fighting to open its doors.

Palhares was infamously cut this month by the UFC for refusing to let go of a heel hook that damaged the ankle of Mike Pierce.

Bellator was the first to say, ‘no thanks’ when it came to Palhares now Ray Sefo has let it be known his stance on the Brazillian with the nasty reputation and long history of unsportsmanlike behavior.

Sefo, the WSOF president, told MMA Weekly:

“His past is not good. The team and I have talked about it. He needs to probably seek some sort of help or talk to somebody, a psychiatrist or whatever, that can help him get away from hurting fighters. Until he does that, we won’t look at signing him anytime soon or anything like that.”

Former UFC standout and current WSOF poster boy Jon Fitch also added his two cents:

“He would have to definitely prove that he is no longer out there trying to cripple people after the fight is over. For Palhares, it seems to be a recurring thing. It’s happened twice in the UFC, and in his grappling matches it’s happened a number of times. It’s just not what our sport is. I mean, we’re trying to beat each other up, but when somebody concedes and gives up, you don’t continue to crank on the submissions. You can end somebody’s career that way. It’s just uncalled for.”

With the two premier second-tier MMA organizations turning its back on Palhares, do you think we will see him picked up by the likes of Titan, RFA, CFA, or Legacy?

It’s funny how most of the people are acting like he’s amputated someone. If he wanted to break his leg, he could have easily done it.

The way the Referee jumped on as if he was trying to pull him off of it didn’t really help the way the situation looked.

i think their point of view is that Rousimar could’ve ended the career of multiple fighters therefore their job/$$$ …

mouths to feed/bills and shit !

Rousimar is not a bad dude … but he s a recidivist ! i wish him the best
