WSOF 2 Results: Hansen’s Flying Knee Finishes Marcellino | MMA NEWS
Brenson Hansen saw his opportunity to finally finish Tom Marcellino.
He didn’t waste it.
Brenson used a flying knee to stop Marcellino in a 150-pound catch-weight fight at World Series of Fighting 2 at Ovation Hall inside the Revel in Atlantic City, NJ.
Hansen, fighting out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, pummeled Marcellino for two rounds before referee Dan Miragliotta stepped in following a vicious left knee at 3:24 of the second round.
“I saw that he was bouncing off the cage so it was the perfect opportunity,” Hansen said.
Hansen spent most of the first round stalking Marcellino (4-2), mixing in low kicks and overhand rights. Late in the round Hansen caught a kick and landed a stiff right that dropped Marcellino, who did not seem to be seriously hurt.
In the second, Hansen continued throwing looping, hard overhand punches, and again dropped Marcellino with a counter right hand. But the tough fighter from Fairfield, Conn., worked his way back to his feet and survived, only to be struck by the flying knee that finished him for good.
