Following his semi-retirement, and title vacancy, former UFC welterweight kingpin, Georges St-Pierre was forced out of training with another knee injury and subsequent surgery.

In a recent interview with UFC.com, UFC President Dana White updated fans on the status of the Canadian mega-star.

“They cleared GSP’s knee. After surgery like that it still takes about another 30 days before you start to mentally feel right. But he’s in a good spot.

“His knee just got cleared and he’ll start training again and getting back into shape. He’ll let us know when he’s ready.”

The UFC boss also discussed a potential showdown between GSP and Rory MacDonald.

“We didn’t even talk about that. I’ve always had the feeling – they’re both professionals and when the time comes and if the time comes, they’ll figure it out.”
