Will GSP Enter The Cage Tomorrow Night To Challenge Diaz vs. Condit Winner?
If he has it his way, he will not…
“I think it’s disrespectful (to get into the cage). When a guy wins, I think it’s his moment of glory and I don’t want to overshadow that. He wins, he deserves that moment. I don’t like to be there. I don’t like confrontation. But I know it’s necessary for the promotion of the sports. The UFC, they force us to do it sometimes. They love it. I’ll go with the flow.”
GSP tells Neil Davidson from the Canadian Press that he is not one to try and rain on anyone’s parade and the thought of entering the cage to challenge tomorrow night’s UFC 143 main event winner is not appealing to him.
However, the UFC is already pushing the Diaz vs. GSP matchup, and if Diaz wins expect the welterweight champion to be forced to go in and challenge the interim champ to a unification bout.
If Condit wins, the challenge will lack fireworks, but GSP in the cage with the outspoken, harsh and often rude Diaz may be worth the price of admission all by itself.
