Vitor Belfort Wants Winner of Weidman/Silva

We usually hear from Vitor Belfort after UFC events when he interrupts the post fight press conference by calling Dana White and asking for a title shot. Considering he was sitting right next to the UFC President, there were no interruptions tonight. As expected, Belfort expressed his confidence that he is next in line for the UFC Middleweight Championship.

“The Phenom” put on the performance of a lifetime tonight in front of a sold out crowd at the Goiânia Arena. Belfort made history when he became the first fighter to knock Dan Henderson out, and all he needed was a minute and change. Henderson connected with a big right hand, but was counter-punched and dropped with a hook from Belfort. After making it back to his feet, Henderson ate a head kick that sent him crashing to the mat. With his eyes rolled in the back of his head, it was clear the fight was over.

Taking his victories over Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold into consideration, this was Vitor Belfort’s third consecutive head kick knockout. Ironically enough, it was a head kick knockout from Anderson Silva that ended their fight at UFC 126 in 2011.

Chris Weidman was the one to dethrone Anderson Silva, and he will be defending his UFC Middleweight Championship in a rematch at UFC 168. Dana White promised “big things” for Vitor Belfort following tonight’s victory, so it’s assumed he is next in line for a title shot.

Hell of a KO, that’s 3 highlight KO’s in a row. 2 of ‘me were top contenders, and 3rd was a legend of the sport. Somehow he’s probably going to get screwed out of a title shot again. At least in Bellator, the men that earn a title shot get it.

  2. Drew says:

I was upset seeing hendo getn ko’d but i was in mere astonishment or how hard that is to do. Vitor vs winner for sure. Or machida belfort, machida would get rocked

  3. The Way Of The Dutchman says:

He has to wait cause SIlva-Weidman is going to be a trilogy. Silva will take that belt back and then it’s 1-1 so there is one more rematch needed.

  4. Night-Wind says:

    Great KO!

Vitor VS. Gustafsson would be awesome too.

  5. Big J says:

He deserves the winner of Weidman/Silva, but I say he fights in the U.S.A and gets tested by WADA….

  6. 123 says:

Belfort would destory Gustaffson.. looking as he is he would probably destory Jones, Silva & Weidman too lol.

  7. 757 says:

Hey Big J dummy….Hendo and about a ton of other fighters are using TRT not to mention Sonnen who fights in Vegas. Whats next Brazilian TRT is better than American TRT? You idiot on top of that Vitor lives in the US and gets tested here regularly. You sorry asses need to find a new excuse for your boys getting there asses kicked. Dana got to give him a shot because he beat up all his hand picked guys who were supposed to beat Vitor up. Get a clue!

  8. Dddddddddd says:

I’m ashamed to watch Vitor fight and support someone who will absolutely be known for the contribution of steroids to
himself more than the contributions he has made to the sport.
He’s been doing this the whole time stupid.

  9. magoo says:
