VIDEO | UFC President Thinks TRT Should Be Banned | UFC NEWS

“I know. We’re regulated by the Government. We’re really the only sport that’s regulated by the Government and the Government allows these guys to do this TRT and basically over the next 10 years sports science keeps getting better and better and better and the way that TRT works is as we get older your testosterone level drops and this is to replace it. The problem with it is is you got guys that are going, ‘well, if this much is good, this much must be great.’

That’s the problem and you will find guys that will cheat even with the stuff that’s legal. So, that’s what we’re trying to… but you make a good point and Anderson Silva said it at the press conference the other day. Anderson Silva, the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, has broke every record in the UFC and is the greatest fighter ever in Mixed Martial Arts. He’s 38 years old, people don’t realize that.

He’s not 28, he’s 38, and he’s not doing Testosterone Replacement Therapy. This guy comes in 100% natural and he beats everybody. And something should be said for that. I don’t disagree, you know, the guys who are using Testosterone Replacement Therapy [versus] a guy who isn’t and this guy is still the greatest in the world. So, to me, the bottom line is you don’t need that junk. If you don’t abuse stuff younger in your career, you’ll never need to use that junk.”

That’s a picture of Dana White making a gesture about how small your dick and balls get after using TRT. LOL, Sonnen proved how small his were last Saturday night.

  6. Jeff says:

The UFC could ban trt if they want to. There an f’ing company and can ban and test for it. Bullshit!

It is actuslly a much longer and more difficult process than that. Not saying that you are trying to mislead, just probably misinformed. There is a lot of red tape for removing a rule allowed by the government. Years of red tape with all of the paperwork, hearings etc. There are countless appeals that can be made as each individual fighter would have the opportunity to state their case for TRT if they so chose. So, technically it is possible. But the logistics and cost of doing so would be so high that it is very unrealistic that it would/could ever happen. You also have to keep in mind that this isn’t just a rule for the UFC, the sport as a whole is regulated by the government. That being said there are many other little facets that can play into it and confuse the whole situation. It is a crappy situation all around. Either way, I liked Dana’s stance on the subject, and I wish that TRT would be removed from the sport.

  7. GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

Dana is so full of shit. If he gaves a rats ass about TRT/ROIDS he would have thrown Sonnen out of the UFC for showing up to a title fight ROIDED UP beyond any level ever seen by commission. shooting enough JUICE of 17men is flat out criminal and UFC made no mention of it when hyping fight. Thye hyped up Sonnen like he was superman instead of SUPER ROIDED UP. Dana is so fricken 2 faced full of shit

    • B-rad says:

Dana definitly has done and said shit that has pissed me off before, but i dont think he can really do much about it right now…Because like he said the GOVT controls that shit so until the state athletic commisions decide to get rid of it it will be here.. And they will never want to get rid of it because some people naturally have low testosterone, so they let them boost up to 6x the normal amount lol… I hope they get rid of it eventually because it is just a loophole to gain an extra advantage

  8. drew says:

i kno chael used roids back in the day
however, i love hendo…but i know pride was pretty much pro roids because they just wanted vicious finishes…and all who do use it is correct to what i have been hearing and what dana just said…if u abuse stuff in the past u will never have this problem
therefore, my grand ? is…is hendo using trt because of his age and his diminishing testosterone in his body or did hendo abuse roids too…when i look back at his fights he never looked it in my opnion looked pretty natural
    anybody with info out there?

  9. Mike says:

I would agree, however i have heard talk about how wrestlers who cut weight often during teen years harm their testosterone production in the long run. Sounds iffy, but PED abuse isn’t the only reason test gets low. There will always be cheaters though.
