….because he’s scared of fighting JBJ so he’ll focus on fighting the smaller champ instead.
I’m sure Jon Jones really really wants a fight with Anderson. Go pick a fight with some dude 20lbs heavier than you, i’m sure it’ll work out real well for you…
I am sure that GSP doesn’t need you to stand up for him! GSP has never made an issue with a fighter’s normal weight. If he feels he can’t beat Silva, he won’t sign the contract. Fighting skills will play a bigger role in the outcome of the fight. Silva would own the stand up and GSP would own the ground.
Silva is taller but not much heavier than GSP. Jones has 20 lbs on Silva easily. Silva and Jones are fighters from a different generation. You people keep forgetting Silva is 38 years old where Jones is 24 and in the prime of his fighting life. If Silva were 10 years younger that fight would make sense just to see who is the better fighter.
I’m a Silva fan but he needs to learn a thing or two from BJ who picks fights with bigger guys.
BJ doesn’t pick fights–fighters pick fights with BJ !! BJ is one of the best ever, so up and coming fighters want the fast track to stardom. So they call out BJ-one of the best fighters ever.
People are forgetting that Silva is talking about meeting GSP eitehr at 170 or 175. This isn’t some big advantage that he will have over GSP. If anything GSP would have the advantage over an older guy cutting down the most weight in years. It’s a fight that many critics and fans have been discussing for years. JBJ is way to big and too tall for Silva, and he’s already admitted that so let’s move one from there.
Choosing not to fight Chael on a short notice only legitimizes the match up between the two. If Jones would have beaten Chael people would have said, “so what you beat a smaller out of shape Chael Sonnen.” It would have made no sense, but now both guys can train and fight each other at 100 percent. They also have time to market the fight whereas before it wouldn’t have made any money. There’s more hype and suspense to this fight now. Jones has cleaned out the entire division he should fight whoever he wants.
