this guy is a joke. an entertaining one at that, but if you look at his mma record you gotta wonder why he is even qualified for a number one contender fight
because he dominated the greatest fighter on the planet for 4 1/2 rounds, something no one else has been able to do.
Anybody that knows anything about mma knows that all you need is a good ground/submission game to beat Sonnen! Sonnen can’t finish fights, he couldn’t finish a happy meal if he wanted to! His technique is as predictable and simple as your thought process.
It may be predictable but it works, for how much of a “simple” fighter he is, he did pretty damn well in his last fight against the “G.O.A.T.” Dan miller has a pretty decent ground game, and chael took him out, marquardt also has an above average ground game, still lost
Well, the GOAT has a weakness and that’s wrestling as Sonnen did the best to expose it. The point is he never deserved a shot to begin with! He was 4-3 in the UFC, is that a champion’s record?? Just cause it works doesn’t mean its exciting or makes you the greatest fighter in your division…Fitch and Sonnen are alot alike, they win fights by what they do, outwrestling and laying on top of their opponents like a lonely inmate!

thanks, bandit i’m glad you’re on sonnen’s side. he is real deserving. when he pounded anderson silva for all those rounds, even though he lost, no one ever did that before. so it doens’t matter that he lost. he pounded on the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world for over four rounds! amazing. the lost doesn’t really matter. even bj himself has said that if he beefs at his best and ends up in a loss, he can walk out of the octagon with his head up. i agree.
