VIDEO | Rashad Evans Eyes Blackhouse Fighters: Wants Anderson Silva Or Lyoto Machida | UFC NEWS
“For the most part, I commend the UFC for making the fights happen that the people love to see. But as a fighter, I was like, ‘man, what’s it gonna take for me to get a chance to get back up in there?’ I wanted to fight Anderson, but it didn’t end up happening because they said I needed one more fight to be a contender at middleweight. But I guess it’s not the same for everybody.”
“I was hoping in December, by the end of the year, but it looks like it’s not going to happen. Maybe in February or March. But who am I going to fight, that’s the big question. I can’t go down in weight class after a loss to Jones unless it’s a special event, unless it’s something that really beckons for my calling, and then I’ll do it.”
…
That’s a big opportunity to fight Anderson. Anderson’s one of those guys whom I consider one of my favorite fighters to watch. To have an opportunity to fight him would be a dream come true for me. The guy who i really want to fight more than anything is a guy I lost to, my first loss, and it’s Machida. I would love to get a chance to fight Machida again. He looked good against Bader and I want to get that one back. I want to get it back bad. That’s the one I really want the most.”

Hey Rashad I’ll tell you what it takes ” to get back up there ” finish fights ! You were bad ass before you Knocked Chuck Lidell the **** out and after that KO it sent you in to the stratosphere ! Ask John Fitch , he’s knows all about this kind of stuff
I bet Anderson would take this fight! Suga got a résumé (AS doesn’t come out for scrubs) so this should be worth his time.
He should be careful what he wishes for. Lyoto matches up well with Rashad as far as keeping distance and countering. And he really doesn’t want it with Anderson, especially at 205. That said, I’d like to see him fight either one.
I don’t think this is what rashad wants. He may think he does but he would get knocked out by both. I think machida would be a better fight bcuz they have already fought but Anderson would cream him.
Machida would beat Rashad just as bad as he did the first time. Rashad wants Anderson…? hahahahahahahaha
Rashad could beat either and either could beat rashad…i would like him to get the rematch with machida first, that fight ended with rashad being cocky and bobbing his head back and forth telling machida come on…you cant do that and expect to not get caught….then i want him to get the win against jones..he could have finished jones had he followed up after the head kick that stunned him or the hook that did as well but he didnt chase like he does with everyone else…
Where is he getting this?? He JUST fought at the top in his last fight and lost. And most people have had to fight one before getting a title shot. Kenny Florian did before Jose Aldo. Vitor Belfort did before Silva. He must be referring to the exception of Chael (that everyone rightfully complains about).
Everyone wants to fight Silva, but he only has 2 fights on his contract, afterwhich the UFC has to renegotiate his pay aka they will milk those last 2 fights. So he better push for just Machida.
I think Evans has a better shot against Silva than he does Machida. Evans has very good wrestling and has good boxing skills, so it is possibly he could take Silva down.
However Machida is light years ahead of Silva in TDD and I don’t think Evans could get close enough with the stance of his to do any damage much like their last fight.
