  1. GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

I remember just a while back when George Sotutopulous (G-SOT) had like a 6 fight winning streak in LW division or Jim Miller 7 fight streak, and countless otehr with 4-5 win streaks. All never got there shots because of Frankie “REMATCH” Edgar but now Pettis thinks he should get a title shot with what 2 fight win streak one of which was against and unranked fighter which was a split decision and he just recently lost to Guida. Why do most LW have to beat 8 in row but Pettis only has to win a few with a recent loss? Big mistake for Pettis to fight Cerrone. Cerrone is bigger, stronger, and has more experience and power. Sorry i think Pettis is overrrated and he is coming off a recent shoulder surgery and noone knows if his striking will ever be the same. Shoulder surgury at such a young age is a really bad sign and leaves a big ? mark with his future IMO.

    • bunkylomax says:

pettis beat the hell out of the current I’m sure he can beat Donald who got tooled my the Stockton Slap

      • T.DADDY says:

He didn’t beat the hell outta Ben… He won that fight cuz of the matrix kick.. eveybody knows that you fukkn douche

        • MMFT says:

he did touch him up pretty well on the feet through out the WHOLE fight actually. one kick isn’t going to give you a five round decision. everyone knows know, ya fukkn douche.

    • Zk says:

You conveniently left out his last fight were he knocks out j.lo, and like bunky said he beat the hell out of benson not to long ago and cerrone got
Fucking tooled by diaz, seems like you have a lot of information but no idea what you are talking about.

      • sarah henson says:

I totally agree. Diaz pretty much made him look like a lost puppy with no defense.Pettis has earned his chance to fight much better fighters then..Cowboy..lol We will see and then hopefully the tards that think otherwise will hush it!

    • Xaninho says:

In his defense, Pettis was promised an immediate titleshot since he was the reigning WEC champ when UFC bought the WEC. He was the champ, but got sidelined by Frankie ‘the rematch’ Edgar’s crap. He took the fight against Guida instead and didn’t expect Guida would LnP himself to a decision. He came back strong and beat Stephens and Lauzon after that.

I truly believe Pettis deserves the shot.

      • T.DADDY says:

Its funny how its lay n pray when its a fighter you don’t like on top… but when its one of ur boys on top its GNP right?? SMH.. tell ur boy pettis to work on his TD defense then and stop cryin… He ain’t even top 5 LW… Only reason people know him is the matrix kick.. he will never beat maynard frankie or if he gets a shot at Ben I think Ben will kick his ass this time…

        • Xaninho says:

No I call it what it is. LnP is LnP, and GnP is GnP. Guida was LnP-ing.

And you’re saying one of your boys, I got news for you Guida used to be one of my favorite fighters until he started LnPing and running circles.

Before the Pettis-Guida fight I didn’t pick a favorite because I liked both fighters. That changed after the lame display of LnP by Guida.

      • krafty11 says:

It wasn’t Frankie’s fault. The fight btw him and Maynard was called a draw, and they had to have the 3rd fight. Pettis didnt want to wait, and to that “ill-fated” fight with Guida. Props to him for not wanting to wait, but maybe he should have, Then we might not be having this discussion..

    • Bob'O says:

GET RID OF FITCH, Cerrone will not beat Pettis. He’s gonna eat his words and get knocked out if and when they fight. Remember what I just said brah. ~Bob’O

  2. Madchild says:

That would be a sick fight.

  3. A.James says:

Cerrone is a striker with one tko/ko. Wtf is that? Pettis will school Cerrone.

    • scotty says:

As cerrone started as a kickboxer, he is actually very well rounded.. He has awesome stand up, great takedowns and great JJ.. Beats you up stand, takes you to the ground then submits you.. And not to mention he has never been KO’d or TKO’d, not even Diaz could put him away with all those punches!

    • Wrestler66 says:

Check Siver fight he basically knocked him out and chose to jump on for the sub …. I imagine he’s done that quite a bit

      • Smileygladhands says:

You imagine or has that happened? Get your shit right. Cerrone is tough, I will agree with that. But pettis is a tough dude too. He has blazing kicks and is a good stand up fighter that needs some wrestling. Pettis will win a tough fight.

      • GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

Yeah Siver had the “Stanky legs” just like Machida gave Rashad. Cerrone sent Siver packing down to 145lbs. Funny Siver use to fight at 170lbs

  4. Yo says:

Pettis is whoopin dat ass, cerrone just tryna hype himself up.

  5. maurice says:

both guys are sick strikers. but pettis is so fucking smooth and has some serious talent. i think that head kick he landed on lauzon was the hardest headkick ive seen in years. when it happened i thought lauzon was dead.

  6. Whys Frankie always get dissed says:

Its not Edgar’s fault it took that many times before somebody could beat him… If the weigh ins were on fight day, he still would’ve champ… He’s fighting at his own weight, and beat the guys sent at him… Even Benson knew he would have to put on extra weight to have a chance of beating him.

    • Irie nation says:

Dude do you know how gay and stupid you sound? Bendo weighed the same as you’re Guido faggot Edgar…Edgar has the same amount of time to add some weight and if he chooses not to then that’s his fault…as far as I know Henderson never missed weight so I guess you can say that’s his weight…dumbass chode

  7. Anti-Zuffa says:

YES!!!! I have been saying all along that Pettis should have to face Cerrone before getting a shot at Diaz or the title! IMO Diaz would whoop Pettis’ ass!! People downplay Cerrone, but he was on like a 7 fight winstreak at one point with a few decisions over players that were quite a ways above him in rank. If Pettis can dominate Cerrone, he should get a shot against Diaz or the current title holder at that time.

  8. Xaninho says:

Pettis has a really good groundgame so I don’t understand why people think Cerrone can just submit Pettis. If it goes to the ground I see Pettis submitting him.

I like Cerrone a lot, but this won’t be an easy fight for him. In fact I’d give the edge to Pettis. He’s much faster in the stand-up with unorthodox techniques and his groundgame is just as good as Cerrone’s, maybe even better.

    • Scotty says:

As his stand up is more flashy and has speed but Cerrone has a more pin point stand up technique.. So i couldnt say one is better than the other accept Pettis has more KO;s.. And I wouldn’t say Pettis’s ground game is better than Cerrone’s.. Cerrone easily has better wrestling and possibly has better JJ.. There is a possibility of Pettis submitting him off his back but I still give the ground game to Cerrone.. It will be a great fight cause they both are great on their feet and both good on the ground in different ways.. I think if Cerrone beats Melvin and can fight in November they should fight for the number 1 spot to face the winner of Nate vs. Bendo/Edgar..

  9. DMAC says:

Make it happen win or lose(cerrone) this would be a great fight!

  10. jbeamazing says:

hey Pettis if you fight any wrestler your dead in the water your just lucky bendo stood with you and he was winning and you got the w by that amazing kick that nicked him in the 5th I want to see you fight diego sanchez now that he moved back down he is a step up from all of your ufc fights same with Donald

  11. maurice says:

@jbeamazing imma just assume u didnt actually watch the entire benson fight or much of any of pettis fights b4. pettis does extremely well against wrestlers, simply because they dont offer him shit on the feet. and pettis guard is super dangerous. more like pettis is dead if he is facing a wrestling with a strong LAY N PRAY like guida. the fact ur throwing diego overrated ass into the mix at lw is a joke.

  12. MellowFellow says:

pettis could have waited he didnt more respect to you for staying active but he lost that fight fair & square so get back in line & fight top comp. you shouldnt get a title shot based off your name. & for those who said he beat the shit out of ben obviously did not watch the fight it was a very close fight

  13. Fred says:

The one thing I have to say is “obviously whoever is calling out is the one that has something to gain”
And it wasn’t Pettis ? I became even a bigger fan when he took a terrible matchup and didn’t wait like a lot of other good fighters
If Pettis let’s this stupid talk get to him
I’m gonna hunt him down and break his shin on my face
    I want Pettis vs. Edgar

  14. Scott says:

I think it would be funny if Edgar happens to beat Henderson! will there be a rematch for henderson? LW division is screwed! too many top guys! i say no more rematches for titles let these guys work themselves back up the ladder!

  15. Now what if Edgar happens to beat Henderson! will we need to wait AGAIN for a rematch probably!!! i think LW div has too many contenders atm, and needs to end these rematches! let these guys fight there way back to the top!
