Forget what the haters say, Diaz is a fighter’s fighter and I love to watch the dude fight. I wish more fighters had his finishing mentality inside the octagon. Gonna hate seeing one of these two lose the fight.
Did I say the word “fight” enough?
me too. Everyone hates on Nick, but I I like the guy and would rather see either guy face a different opponent.
Seriously I wish they would not have this fight I don’t wana see it at all. It’s gna suck to see either one of them lose.
But it’s also why we love these guys. They will throw down when the time comes. That’s what matters man – neither of these guys will lose respect win or lose.
@sean 100% agree
Both are true warriors who always come to fight. Gonna be hard for BJ to get inside Diaz’s reach. The closer this fight gets the more I’m leaning toward Diaz.
I think it’s funny that Diaz is always blaming the UFC for him missing that press conference. Dude your manager didn’t even know where you were at. Sometimes you gotta stop being a rebel and just go with what they tell you to do
Agreed
nothing but respect for the diaz brothers but im with bj forever!!
this is the most articulate i’ve ever seen Nick Diaz. he likes to jump from topic to topic. didn’t really understand the transition from fighters being on twitter to fighters from the same team fight each other. BJ Penn’s gonna win!
i think he meant rashad and jon
Is it me or does it seem like Nick is not confident at all? I think Nick Diaz kicks ass and I hope this fight goes all the rounds, I like both fighters so I’m torn between who I want to win….to f’n warriors!
No your right he seems to definitely be questioning himself at some points “some good training” and “I don’t need this stuff anymore”.
I picked that up too, and I hope we’re just looking into things a little too deeply. That, “I don’t need this stuff anymore” shit caught my attention and started me to worrying a lil bit. Hope he comes out 100% mentally and physically so he and BJ can put on a hell of a fight.
I think he will – Diaz always shows up to fight. Gotta remember though, he also said that BJ is his hero and has looked up to him for awhile (we all know BJ is a killer and so does Diaz) – gotta **** with your head knowing that’s who you’re going up against.
what a trip…training your hardest to be the best you can be and shitting your pants at the same time.
hes throwing this lie around that he does what UFC says, well why did he run out the back of Caesar Gracie’s house to avoid the press conference? wtf? Nick is a legit fighter but he is mentally ****ed
I think to him a press conference is more scary than the fight itself. Public speaking is cited as thee number one fear most people have. If he would just go ahead and say that, I think the UFC might make some considerations; I know fans would. But him just dodging it and saying it’s bullshit only pisses people off.
Truth is, with Diaz-hater banter aside, Nick has had a pretty rough / rocky road the past couple months…(even when many people on this site would simply state “It’s Nick Diaz, so who really gives a f*ck?”)
Thing is, you’ve got a guy who’s camp partner / best friend’s father suddenly passes away (Nick was very close with Jack Shields). Then, a few days later, you have Dana jumping the gun and stripping Nick of his much anticipated title shot VS. GSP (an opportunity he’s been working his whole life for), being that Diaz did not show up at the press conference (*and yes, Diaz is in no way innocent in that respect). Plus the massive media / fan backlash that got completely out of hand in the weeks following. Then Dana goes ahead and sets up a fight between two good friends / former training partners (Nick was a crucial part in BJ training for Kenny Florian), not to mention that BJ Penn is one of Diaz’s MMA heroes and someone he was quite close with before all this drama.
When taking all that into account, it’s not all that surprising that Diaz is having trouble dealing with all the weight on his shoulders currently and how it could effect his training and head-space leading up to this fight…I mean, the guy’s human, just like the rest of us.
Personally, I dig & respect the fact that Nick Diaz stays authentic and real during his interviews, rather than hearing fighters like GSP or Jones deliver custom made PR blurbs every time a microphone is in their face.
I haven’t looked forward to a UFC this much in ages. Both of these guys have great skills and come to fight and finish fights. I said before I see BJ with a (slight) edge so I’m sticking with my prediction. Would like to see Diaz given a crack at GSP at some point though.
