Nate Marquardt discusses his upcoming fight with undefeated Tyron Woodley for the vacant Strikeforce Welterweight Title.
“Tyron is a very tough guy. He’s undefeated in 10 fights. Earlier in his career he had all finishes; he was able to knock out or submit his opponents. He’s recently faced some tougher guys and went the distance but still was able to come out on top. His strength is definitely his wrestling. I’m sure he’s working on his striking and his jiu-jitsu game but he’s always going to have that wrestling background that he falls back to. I know I’m going to have a world of experience on him as far as striking and grappling on the ground is concerned but like I said, he’s a tough guy, he’s explosive with his right hand, and I’m sure he’s going to have a couple tricks up his sleeve. I will too.”

he hasnt fought any real strikers to make look like babies plus he lost the fight against jay heiron so yea til he comes to the ufc and fights a real striker like kampmann, the juggo, alves, hardy, ludwig all these guys would smack askrens head in well maybe not hte last two lol
askren is a one trick pony, yeah he does have awsome wrestling but this is mma not a ****in ncaa match. he needs to either start being a lot more agressive with his striking from the top or look to finish a submission. because he can dominate the top position like he can he should be able to catch a submission pretty easy but he chooses not too, instead he just drops down punches with what seems like 30% power.. All im sayin is a fight should try to be finished, not always left up to the judges.
Nate looks a lot smaller than before. I still put my money on him.
You should get a pillow and blanket if you buy a ticket to watch Woodley, Askren, and Fitch fight. By far the 3 most boring fighters in MMA. Of course “wrestlingrules” is gonna jock these dudes. Hes got all 3 in his throat at once.
